Witches Brew Chex Mix with Chocolate Brooms [Gluten Free]
Such a fun Halloween treat. It's full of chocolate, sugar + colorful sprinkles. It's a huge hit with kids + husbands.
We are putting together fun little paper gift bags for our neighbors for Halloween this year. There is 5 acres between us all, so dropping off some homemade treats to them will be fun for the kids.
This recipe is so fun + simple. Get your kids in the kitchen - it's such a fun recipe to make with them. So much finger licking + sprinkle taste testing. And the result, is a treat worthy of any Halloween adventures you have this year.
I made this gluten free - use any kind of chex cereal you like. Make it your own!

Witches Brew Chex Mix with Chocolate Brooms [Gluten Free]
5 cups Rice Chex
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup sunbutter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup m&m's
1 cup marshmallows
2 handfuls witches brooms (recipe to follow)
Place the rice chex cereal in a large bowl.
Melt the chocolate chips + sunbutter in the microwave in 25 second increments. Stirring after each time until everything is fully melted + combined. Pour this mixture over the chex. Mix gently with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until the cereal is coated.
Sprinkle the powdered sugar all over the top of the coated cereal. Again mix gently with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until the cereal is coated.
Add in the m&m's, marshmallows + witches brooms. Toss lightly to combine everything together.
Serve or store in an air tight container for up to 5 days.
Chocolate Brooms

Arrange a baking sheet tray covered with parchment paper + set aside.
In a small bowl, microwave the chocolate chips + shortening in 25 second increments or until chocolate is melted. Stir until smooth. Pour the chocolate into a tall glass.
Dip the small pretzel sticks, one at a time until they are covered halfway. Place on the parchment paper + top with sprinkles. Let them sit to dry. When fully dry, add them to the chex cereal mix.
