Slow Cooked Sesame BBQ Boneless Short Ribs

The flavors of sesame, brown sugar + ginger are perfect on these tender fall apart short ribs. The hot sauce, tamari + garlic add the perfect levels of heat + salt to the meat. It's such an easy protein to pull together.

Add a few things into a slow cooker or Instant Pot + let it do the work. Heat up the sauce ingredients + serve it up. So good.

Boneless ribs have my heart - no need to search for meat around the bones. Just dig in with a fork - they are fall off the bone - well, not actually because there aren't bones. Ok, whatever - they are TENDER!

Serve these ribs with jasmine rice + roasted vegetables. It's a meal!

Slow Cooked Sesame BBQ Boneless Short Ribs

1 lb. boneless beef short ribs

2 teaspoons sesame oil, divided

1 cup beef bone broth

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 cup tamari or soy sauce

1/2 coconut aminos

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 heaping tablespoon hot sauce (such as sriracha)

1/2 teaspoon tapioca flour or arrowroot

2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

1 small bunch fresh cilantro, roughly chopped

In the bowl of your slow cooker or Instant Pot, place the short ribs, sesame oil + bone broth. Set the heat to high + timer for 4 hours. Cook with the lid on it.

When the ribs are almost finished, mix together the remaining ingredients in a small saucepot. Over low heat mix everything together. When it starts to simmer or bubbles start to appear, set a timer for 4 minutes. Keep the heat low + stir occasionally. Turn the heat off + let sit.

Remove the ribs carefully from the slow cooker to a serving plate. Drizzle the sauce over each of the ribs. Garnish with more sesame seeds + cilantro.
