Quick + Dirty (Spicy) Aminos Steak Bites with Red Chilies

5 ingredient meals have my heart!

Tender steak bites charred up nicely with coconut aminos + topped with hot red chilies. YES! This is seriously so simple - I love how a simple marinade showcases the meat by giving it some flavor+ making a silky sauce.

Quick - 2 ingredient marinade + sauce!

Dirty - Charred browned bites + super heat from the red chilies!

Anytime I see Hanger Steak or Flap Meat - I BUY IT! I highly recommend both types of cuts - they have a perfect fat to meat ratio. They are both tender, cook up fast + can be grilled or in a hot pan on the stove. I buy more than I need for a meal - freeze them + thaw them in the refrigerator the night before.

If you have followed me for some time then you know I LOVE recreating Thai/Asian flavors into homemade meals that are lighter, easier on your gut + please everyone at the table. This one doesn't disappoint. If you love those flavors (like I make ALL the time) here are some recipes you might like too:

Quick + Dirty (Spicy) Aminos Steak Bites with Red Chilies

1 1/2 lbs flap steaks or hanger steaks, cut into 1 inch pieces

1/2 cup coconut aminos

1 heaping tablespoon arrowroot powder

1 teaspoon coconut oil

1 red chili, sliced (remove the seeds if you want to decrease the heat)

cilantro or scallions to garnish

In a medium bowl, marinade the steak bites in the coconut aminos for 1 hour - best to do this at room temperature.

Heat a heavy duty pan (like a cast iron) over high heat. Add in the coconut oil. Add the arrowroot powder to the steak bowl - toss to coat with a wooden spoon or tongs.

When the pan is very hot, add in the steak bites in a single layer + don't touch or turn the steak for at least 4-5 minutes. You want that side to brown + char up nicely. When you think it is turning brown, flip them over to cook the other sides. Cook for about 4 minutes or until the steak is medium rare. Turn the heat off.

Sprinkle with the red chilies + cilantro.

Enjoy!
