Gluten Free Brown Butter Sugar Cookie M&M Chocolate Bars

Need a mid week sweet treat? Well, here you go.

Are you ready for a sugar rush? I can't hide that these are sweet.

Add these cookie bars to your holiday gift boxes or just a nice sweet treat for your neighbors.

Gluten Free Brown Sugar Cookie M&M Chocolate Bars

1 cup butter

1 3/4 cups light brown sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups gluten free flour blend

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 pinch salt

3/4 cup M&M's

1/2 semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat your oven to 350F. Line a 8x8 or 4x10 baking pan with parchment paper. Spray the paper with cooking spray + set a side.

In a medium sized skillet, melt the butter over medium low heat. Swirl around with a wooden spoon or spatula until it becomes brown + remove from the heat. Stir in the brown sugar to combine.

Transfer the butter + sugar mixture to a stand mixer bowl. On low speed, add in the eggs - one at a time. Then stir in the vanilla.

Pour in the gluten free flour, baking powder, baking soda + salt. Mix until just combine + no flour is showing.

Scrap the sides down + fold in the M&M's + chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.

Pour the dough into the prepared pan. Spread out by pushing it to the sides with a spatula to make sure it is even.

Bake for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven + let cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove from the pan + cut into bars using a sharp knife.
