Basil Garlic Butter Steak
Adding fresh summer garden flavor to your grilled steak just got SOO simple + GOOD!
Fresh garlic + basil with BUTTER. I mean seriously. Spread on hot off the grill steak + dig in. Don't forget to serve extra herb butter at the table - people will ask for it..promise!
So quick + simple - you will be surprised you didn't think of it before. I mean, seriously.
Let's make it.

Basil Garlic Butter Steak
1 tri tip steak, room temperature
salt + pepper
1 tablespoon avocado oil
4 tablespoons butter, room temperature/softened
1 cup fresh basil, roughly chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 pinch red pepper flakes
Preheat your grill on high heat.
Sprinkle the steak liberally with salt + pepper on both sides. Spoon the oil over the steak.
When the grill is hot, add the steak + cook for 6-8 minutes without moving it.
Meanwhile, made the basil garlic butter. Combine the butter, basil, garlic + red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Mix with a spoon or butter knife. Add in a small pinch of each salt + pepper. Mix everything together. Set a side.
Flip the steak over + cook for another 6-8 minutes or until the center has reached the temperature you like. Remove from the grill + let sit.
You can either spread the basil garlic butter over the steak while it rests or wait until after you slice it. I like to slice it + then spread it on so that when it melts it goes down into the sides + crevices of each piece. So good.
Serve right away with grilled vegetables, potatoes, salad, rice or on its own.
Enjoy
